Cory Booker, New Jersey's favorite imaginary senator, who completely turned Newark around by occasionally tweeting things, is launching his presidential bid by testifying against Senator Sessions.
Sen. Cory Booker will on Wednesday take the apparently unprecedented step of testifying against the confirmation of fellow Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama to be attorney general, a move that could firm up Booker’s progressive bona fides ahead of a possible 2020 presidential bid.
Booker slimed his way into the Senate under somewhat dubious circumstances. And not all that long ago.
He hasn't distinguished himself in the Senate. His experience is a blip. He's attacking Sessions not because he has anything to testify about, but as a 2020 publicity stunt.
“Sen. Sessions’ decades-long record is concerning in a number of ways, from his opposition to bipartisan criminal justice reform to his views on bipartisan drug policy reform, from his efforts earlier in his career to deny citizens voting rights to his criticism of the Voting Rights Act, from his failure to defend the civil rights of women, minorities, and LGBT Americans to his opposition to commonsense, bipartisan immigration reform,” said Booker,
So Booker is testifying against Sessions because he disagrees with him?
Is Booker aware that Sessions is the appointee of a guy who won the White House on the strength of his opposition to illegal alien amnesty, aka immigration reform? Does Booker reject democracy? Would Booker prefer that Trump nominate someone who rejects a major plank of his platform?
These are all rational questions which Booker is no more capable of answering than he was of fixing Newark. Cory Booker is a sham. And this is yet another performance.
