They're creepy. They like to crawl out from under rocks and sting you before running away from the light. I'm talking about environmentalists of course. And government regulators. And Obama's creepy crawlies have found professional solidarity with some other creepy crawlies.

Wednesday’s edition of the Federal Register contains new rules for fruit and vegetable juices, protections for spiders and accessible guidelines for buses.

Here’s what is happening:

Spiders: The Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is proposing new protections for spiders.

The FWS proposed Tuesday to list tarantula spiders as an endangered species. The protections would apply to five species of tarantulas, including the Poecilotheria fasciata, P. ornata, P. smithi, P. subfusca and P. vittata.

The public has 60 days to comment.

Does anyone really think the people responsible will have 60 days in office?

But by all means, next time a tarantula spider is crawling on you, don't touch it or you might be harming an endangered species.
