Here's the official story.
Three U.S. military members were killed outside a military base in southern Jordan on Friday, U.S. officials said, according to The Associated Press.
An American official in Washington, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the news agency one U.S. service member died at the scene and two who were wounded died at a hospital in Amman.
According to the report, shots were fired as a car carrying the Americans tried to enter the al-Jafr base near the southern Jordanian town of Mann, at about noon local time on Friday.
The official story that the car failed to stop has holes in it.
At least three U.S. military trainers in Jordan were fatally shot by security forces Friday when their vehicle failed to stop at the gate of a military base, Jordanian and U.S. officials said.
Earlier, Jordan’s military said there was “an exchange of gunfire” after the vehicle’s driver ignored demands to stop outside an air base in southern Jordan. A Jordanian officer was injured, the statement said.
The U.S. official said two of the service members died later in Jordan’s capital, Amman, where they were airlifted for treatment.
Of course they were. Killing the infidels is a primary tenet of Islam. Whether they're riding in a car ot lying in a hospital bed.
A U.S. official told NPR's Tom Bowman that it was Jordanian soldiers who opened fire. The reason wasn't immediately clear, the official says, but there were no apparent signs of hostile intent.
.I would call shooting a hostile act with hostile intent. And while friendly fire incidents do happen all the time, there's a pattern of Muslim attacks on US soldiers, and a pattern of attacks by Jordanian soldiers,
Last November, a Jordanian police captain opened fire in an international police training facility, killing two Americans and three others. The government subsequently portrayed the police captain as troubled.
There have been a number of other attacks, including on Israelis, by Jordanian soldiers in the past.
While Americans think of Jordan as a friendly country because of its jovial Star Trek loving king, who is more British than Arab, much of the population is basically "Palestinian" and has high levels of support for Islamic terrorism.
There have been too many cover ups already. The truth must be known.
