Diminished mental state is the favorite tool of pro-crime activists. Every monster on death row is suddenly discovered to have a low IQ. Every criminal is either suffering from lead poisoning or brain injuries. Enter Keith Lamont Scott, the thug shot by a black police officer in Charlotte. Like every other criminal, he was just suffering from noggin problems.
Keith Lamont Scott was a different person after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle accident last year. Friends say his medications made him zone out, slurring his words and forgetting what he was saying in the middle of a conversation.

A domestic violence protective order was filed against Scott by his wife, Rakeyia Scott, in 2004 in Mecklenburg County. Rakeyia claims Scott stabbed her in the back, almost puncturing her lungs. She also claims he “sliced me [sic] ear and bruised my body.
Officials in Texas tell WCCB that Scott spent seven years in prison for shooting a man in San Antonio.
Officials say he shot and injured a known acquaintance in 2005. Court records show Scott was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Scott fired more than 10 rounds from a 9mm pistol, according to court records. He was released from prison in 2011.
Sorry, blaming a motorcycle accident last year doesn't explain any of this. Scott has a long record of violence. He wasn't "disabled". He was a psychotic monster.
