Remember Keith Lamont Scott, the left's favorite new martyr to racist police brutality, who was shot by a black police officer after waving a gun around? He's also Hillary and Obama's favorite new victim. BLM protesters insist he was just carrying around a book and the police planted the gun. Not according to his wife.

The wife of Keith Lamont Scott filed a restraining order against her husband in October 2015, informing law enforcement that her husband should be considered a threat because he carried a 9-millimeter gun, our news partners at the Charlotte Observer report.

The question over whether Scott had a gun at the time has been the center of debate between police and Scott's family. Scott's family has said he did not own a gun, but police said they recovered a gun at the scene of the shooting.

In 2005, he was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he shot and injured a man in San Antonio, Texas, the Observer reports. He fired more than 10 rounds from a 9-millimeter pistol, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice confirmed to the Observer.

Scott was sentenced to seven years in prison for the assault and for subsequently trying to evade arrest.

So he was a wonderful fellow already. And his wife warned that he was dangerous because he carried a gun. You know, the gun that doesn't exist.

Scott got out of prison in 2011. But in October 2015, his wife, Rakeyia, filed for a restraining order against him. In her petition, she said that law enforcement officials should consider her husband a potential threat because he carried a 9-millimeter gun.

That's just what the police did.
