The whitewashing of Islamic terrorism has taken us to this strange place in which the authorities will actually work hard trying to disprove the confessions of guilt from terrorists caught red-handed. Just ask Nidal Hassan, who had to resort to smuggling out papers confessing to being an Islamic terrorist because his friendly new judge (unlike the mean old one who made him shave his beard) and the political and military apparatus wouldn't hear of it.
So with the Philly shooting, in which the Muslim attacker clearly said that he was acting for Allah, Islam and the Koran, has to lead to denials. The mayor insisted that the shooter who acted in the name of Islam, wasn't acting in the name of Islam.
During a police press conference Friday afternoon, Mayor Jim Kenney stated that he believes the shooting of a Philadelphia police officer has “nothing to do with being a Muslim,”despite the suspect claiming he did it in the name of Islam.
And the cops are stuck in the middle leading to ridiculous headlines like this, "Police probe man's claim of shooting cop in Islam's name".
There's not much to probe as the shooter stated what he did. His claim isn't remotely exculpatory so he has no reason to lie. All that can be determined is his level of external guidance by terror groups. So, the media as usual trots out claims that he's mentally ill. Every Muslim terrorist somehow turns out to be "mentally ill", including Nidal Hassan.
Edward Archer confessed to shooting the officer and told investigators he was following Allah, and had pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS.
At a news conference, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross, who just took office Tuesday, didn't label the shooting a terrorist attack, though he said Archer "clearly gave us a motive."
Why isn't it a terror attack, if it's carried out in support of a known terror group as part of that group's call for attacks? Because that would be inconvenient.
