He was pulled over for failing to use his turn signal.
He insisted he hadn't committed a crime.
So he turned on Facebook Live to capture the injustice on camera.
That's where, police say, Dominique Desha Green went wrong during a traffic stop last week in northwest Dallas. Authorities say the 24-year-old incriminated himself on his live stream: shouting about his innocence as he recorded his attempt to hide cocaine from officers.
He's now facing 11 charges related to the traffic stop, including drug possession.
Green told his Facebook followers that he was parked at an AutoZone, trying to decide on the best way to trick out his 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, when a police officer attempted to arrest him for "being black on a Friday."
"They're just [expletive] with me because I'm young, black ... and on the wrong side of the neighborhood," Green said.
But after about 10 minutes of insisting that he had not committed a crime, Green recorded himself stashing what police say was cocaine in the driver's side door.
Does it get better? Of course it gets better.
While Trotter waits for backup, Green rants to himself and his Facebook followers about the police. He records himself hiding his drugs, authorities say. Then he gets out of the car and yells, "Black lives matter!"
Police arrest him at the end of the 13-minute video. An officer who identifies himself as Trotter's supervisor assures Green his life is not in danger. "We're not bad guys here," he says.
But police say Green still resisted arrest, spitting in Trotter's face and trying to kick out the window of the police car.
While waiting to be searched at the jail, police say, Green continued to yell at the officer who pulled him over. "Trotte. Trotter. However you pronounce it. That's a unique name," he said. "What? It European? You Pilgrim ass cracker."
Authorities say Green also threatened to kill Trotter and his wife, and sexually assault his daughter.
"When I get out I'm going to hunt you down," he said.
Clearly we need sentencing reform. To lock people like this up for good.
