The Forward is a ridiculous embarrassing joke. Or it would be if anyone working there had...

1. A sense of humor

2. A sense of shame

So we get things like this...

Is Donald Trump’s Endorsement by 88 Retired Generals a Secret Neo-Nazi Code?

In a move to boost his national security credibility, Donald Trump released an endorsement letter signed by 88 retired military figures.

Now some are questioning if there is a hidden anti-Semitic message behind the statement — since the number 88 is a well-known code for ‘Heil Hitler.’

While there are plenty of Twitter trolls who would go exactly there, the Trump campaign is not out there distributing anime Holocaust references and White Genocide tweets.

Despite some of the uglier people trying to associate themselves with Trump, this "secret code" was organized by a Holocaust survivor.

88 retired U.S. generals and admirals, including four 4-star and fourteen 3-star flag officers, signed an open letter endorsing Donald J. Trump for president. The letter was organized by Major General Sidney Shachnow and Rear Admiral Charles Williams.

Major General Shachnow is the only Holocaust survivor to become a U.S. General. A 40-year veteran of the Army, Shachnow served with the Green Berets for 32 years. He was Commanding General, US Army Special Forces Command Airborne, Ft. Bragg and is the recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal. Rear Admiral Williams served as Commanding Officer of five organizations throughout his career and received the Legion of Merit. “He has the temperament to be commander-in-chief,” Major General Sid Shachnow stated. Rear Admiral Charles Williams emphasized the motivation for generating this letter was to publicly disclose that military leaders believe "Donald Trump is more trusted to be commander-in-chief than Hillary Clinton.”

The Forward could have figured that out if it had spent 5 minutes researching it instead of building an article around Twitter memes. But that requires the J word. Not Judaism, obviously. This is the Forward. But... Journalism.
